  • The Art of Dying Well

The Catholic Church offers practical and spiritual support to those faced with the prospect of death via the Art of Dying Well. We believe that death opens the way to new life. In dying, we close our eyes for the last time here, in order to be able to really see for the first time there.

    CV-19 Cemetery Announcement
The Cemetery remains open for burials, whilst adhearing to the Government's Social Distancing policy guidlines.

Visiting the graves of loved ones, within the cemetery, is permitted whilst adhering to the same social distancing guidelines.

    Government Guidelines

We have published  guidance setting out current restrictions in place for funeral services.
It is advised that in-person attendance of funeral services should be kept to the minimum  of 20 people at the funeral mass. For attandance at the graveside it is recommended  immediate family members only, including grandchildren. It is very important that NHS guidance for all people regarding  physical distancing and  shielding for high risk groups is followed to help prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) amongst communities.

Those attending a service should remain 2 metres (6 feet) apart during any service (except where they are from the same household, or a carer and the person is assisted by the carer).

Arrangements should be made for those at highest risk, who should not attend in person, to follow the service electronically e.g., by video link or by phone.

Stonemason Protocol (as issued by the Diocese of Paisley)

St Conval’s Cemetery is happy for families to use any stonemason, we do not endorse anyone in particular.
Families are free to choose their own company when purchasing a memorial.

George Rooney Memorials is on-site should you wish to contact him on 0141 880 5602 – he is independent of the Cemetery Management & of the Diocese of Paisley.

All these died in faith, before receiving any of the things that had been promised, but they saw them in the far distance and welcomed them, recognising that they were only strangers and nomads on earth.

People who use such terms about themselves make it quite plain that they are in search of a homeland.  If they had meant the country they came from, they would have had the opportunity to return to it; but in fact, they were longing for a better homeland, their heavenly homeland.

That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God since he has founded the city for them.
    Hebrews - 11-16
