On Friday 29 October, approximately 1100 Primary 7 pupils from across the Diocese, gathered in St. Mirin's Cathedral, to celebrate their Vocations Mass which begins their time of preparation for receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation in Easter Tide.

May I take the opportunity to thank those priests who are relinquishing parishes and remits for the terrific work they have done in post. May I also thank all of those who gladly and generously said yes to their moves and remits. It is one of the hardest jobs of a bishop to make these moves but it was made easy by our great Paisley priests. Let’s keep them all is our prayers. +John
On September 29th the Church honors the Holy Archangels. Although there are believed to be seven archangels (based on Tobit 12:15 and Rev. 8:2), only these three are mentioned by name in the Catholic Bible: St. Gabriel St. Michael St. Raphael Only one of them, St. Michael, is specifically called an archangel in Scripture. According to Catholic tradition, the archangels are an order of angels within a hierarchy of angelic hosts. In all, there are nine ranks, or choirs, of angelic beings.
Following on from our Consecration of Scotland to the Immaculate Heart of Mary & the 100th Anniversary of Fatima & in addition our +prayingtheROSARYeveryday+ throughout the month of October. On Saturday 7th October we welcome the National Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, as it arrives in St Mirin's Cathedral.
Benedictine Convent In Largs for an over night vigil for women only. Free personal time in Adoration from 9pm till approximately 6.20am when we leave the convent for the train back to Glasgow.
Opening of Saint Conval’s Church Fiftieth Anniversary Dear brothers and sisters, it is a great joy for me to be with you as your bishop as you celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of this parish church. As we celebrate the Golden Jubilee of this church, of course, we give thanks to God for the long and noble history of our parish that first came to light nearly one hundred and thirty years ago, in 1898.
Youth to Lourdes 2018 We are currently in the process of arranging the Youth Lourdes Pilgrimage for 2018. The Pilgrimage will leave Scotland on Thursday 28th June 2018. We will arrive in Lourdes on Friday 29th June. We will arrive back in Scotland on Friday 6th July. The pilgrimage is open to anyone in the present s3, s4, s5 or s6. The cost this year is £550.00. The deposit to reserve a place is £60.

St Mirin's Vocations Mass was held on Monday night. It was a great success with schools represented from across the diocese. Pupils arrived by bus, train, car and by any means possible; to be part of the living vocational life of the diocese!

Throughout our Paisley Synod the Holy Spirit confirmed His will for us to become a diocese of new evangelisation, renewing our Church by sharing the Good News with each other and taking it back out into our world.
Dear brothers and sisters and friends, It is good to be with you in Saint Aidan’s today for this Kirking of East Renfrewshire Council welcomed, as we have been so finely, by Canon Nicholas Taylor and the parish community. Personally it is a joy to see Bishop Gregor with us, as well as fellow representatives from the Jewish and Muslim faiths (and we are honoured by the presence of our Presiding Officer of Parliament, Ken Mackintosh MSP).
Despite the weather, Scotlands clergy and faithful - who were able to travel, congregated together at Carfin to celebrate Holy Mass & also take part in the Consecration of Scotland to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Thousands gathered for this historical event. The consecration prayer was very powerful and filled with hope and anticipation for the future of our nation. Here are some pictures of the day!
