Caritas students from St Andrews Academy, Paisley visited the diocesan last week with a view to offering their skills and talents within the office. They will be helping with general admin duties and assisting at various events. We look forward to working with them.

Yesterday we welcomed students from St. Andrew's Academy, Paisley. The students are working towards achieving the Caritas Award and as part of their ongoing volunteering, they have accepted an invitation to use their skills and talents within the diocesan office. We are look forward to working with them.
PAPAL HONOUR FOR SCOT Mr John Deighan, Chief Executive of SPUC Scotland , has been honoured by the Holy Father by being made a Knight of Saint Gregory. This is in recognition of his work for the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland, both in his current position, and as Parliamentary Officer for the Catholic Church at the Scottish Parliament. A Mass of Investiture took place on Thursday 11th February at 7pm in St Mirin’s Cathedral. It was a great event and John was joined by his extended family and friends.
All together sharing the Good News In The Joy of the Gospel Pope Francis says, “Every Christian is challenged, here and now, to be actively engaged in evangelisation”. Dear brothers and sisters we are gathered here, the fifth Sunday of the Liturgical Year on the cusp of Lent, looking forward with Catholics the whole world over to our Ashes on Wednesday and the joyful season of forty days of prayer and penance in anticipation of the Feast through which we are brought back to life in Christ.
Today, to mark our Seventy-Five Days countdown to our Paisley Synod we launched our Synod Logo. Congratulations to Josephine Young of St. Mary's Primary, Greenock for this winning entry and to Ross Crighton of St. Ninian's Primary, Gourock the runner-up, and to all the children who entered the competition for their wonderful ideas and creations.
The Spirit of the Synod The goal of the Synod is for Paisley to be a diocese of evangelisation, going out into the world and sharing the Good News with everyone and to discern how far, and in what ways the lay faithful can be the protagonists of this evangelisation. Bishop John Keenan
