Synod Thanks and Update.
Can I thank all the priests who have so far hosted the Synod Task Groups.  Both Fr. Denis and I have been really impressed and encouraged by the preparation you put into making your groups welcome in your homes and in the pastoral guidance you gave them as they moved to elect officers.  Each group is working on the Synod Document to gather, focus and prioritise Charter points and begin thinking of initiatives that will help parishes, schools and groups move them forward.  The Chair of the Steering Group is John Couttie,  a parishioner in St.  Fillan’s known to many of you.  He is working hard with Denis and myself to see, from Task Groups feedback, what are emerging as your central themes and priorities.  In this role John will have the lead lay role in our Synod process.  Other members of the Steering Group are: Brian Blacklaw, Joseph Bonner, Eleanor de Murro, Linda Polonis,  Simon Keenan (no relation), Michael Morris, Jacqueline Stewart, John Kelly, John O’Brien, Caroline Lyall, Stephen McCauley, Andy Milwaine, June Clunie, Philomena Muggins and Jackie Gillespie.  Once again thanks for being so supportive both of our synod and as we begin in earnest its implementation.
