Thank you to everyone who joined us at LOUDfence today at St. Mirin's Cathedral. We had some wonderful feedback alongside many beautifully created tokens of support.
Please remember that you can come along tomorrow, Monday 11th between 10am - 4pm, and also on Tuesday 12th August between 10am and 1pm.
Loudfence is an event that shows visible solidarity with those affected by all forms of abuse. It empowers and invites our church community to express their support for survivors and accompany them in their journey towards recovery. It demonstrates our ongoing commitment to learn, improve and help better protect our church communities.
What is a LOUDfence?
LOUDfence is a Catholic (not for profit) community interest company, which was set up from a kitchen table in 2020 with the aim of working alongside churches to actively foster a culture, which is pro-safeguarding and with healing and faith reconciliation at the heart of its purpose.
Designated Listeners and members of the Diocesan Safeguarding Team will be present throughout the event to support, encourage and help. Refreshments and signposting literature will also be available in the Cathedral Halls.
As an everlasting symbol of care and compassion, Our Lady of Paisley, will be the patron Saint of the event with her icon used to demonstrate our commitment to "stand by" anyone affected by abuse and help bring them to her beloved care.
This is a Diocesan outreach initiative working in collaboration with LOUDfence, but with its own local identity and purpose. LOUDfence enables a church community to celebrate what they want to be - compassionate, supportive, transparent and truthful.
Please join us in showing our continued solidarity with all those affected by abuse. We hope to see you there!
