You don’t see this very often!

The Diocese of Lafayette had seven new priests ordained this last weekend – which is a great thing to celebrate! But have you seen a celebration like this?

At what appears to be a reception, someone started playing the song “Shout” and one of the new priests started dancing inside a dance circle. As the song picked up, the other newly ordained priests also joined in. Towards the end, one of the newly ordained priests hadn’t joined in yet, so the other priests encouraged him to join. It all ended with them hoisting the last priest up in the air! You can watch the full video below.

The video was originally posted on the Facebook page Ragin Cajun Catholics with the comment, “Video evidence that there were some men in Lafayette happy to be Catholic priests this weekend.”

The Facebook page for the Diocese of Lafayette also shared the video, and with this comment, “We just had to share! Our newly ordained priests celebrating their ordination! Congrats to our wonderful new priests!”
