Mary’s Meals is an international charity which provides a daily meal in a place of education for children in some of the world’s poorest communities. It currently costs us an average of just £13.90 to feed a child for a year. We are committed to keeping our running costs low to ensure good stewardship of the donations we receive. This is made possible by the work carried out by the thousands of volunteers around the world.
 
Mary’s Meals UK has a network of local volunteer teams who work hard pro-actively raising awareness of the charity across parish communities in central Scotland. They motivate and inspire other parishioners to support our work, playing an active part in reaching the next child waiting for Mary’s Meals.
 
Becoming part of the Mary’s Meals team offers an opportunity to meet new people, increase your confidence, learn new skills or just have fun sharing the Mary’s Meals story! Some of the team have been volunteering each weekend for many years, some join us for a few hours every 4 to 6 weeks and some just one weekend per year – whatever their commitments allow.

We currently have two opportunities:
 
Church Raffle Team Volunteer
 
If you can spare a few hours on a Saturday evening or a Sunday morning once a year or every couple of weeks, your donation of time will help us raise vital funds and awareness, enabling us to reach more hungry children.
 
Our Raffle team visit churches around central Scotland, giving short talks (you don’t need to do that bit!), selling raffle tickets and collecting donations. Helping with any of these tasks, for even one day every four to six weeks, will really make a difference.
 
As a church raffle team volunteer you will share our vision, mission and values and enjoy meeting and talking to people. Adopting a friendly and diplomatic approach to everyone you meet is also important, as is having an honest, trustworthy nature.
 
Parish Representative Volunteer
Mary’s Meals Parish Reps promote & support the Raffle Team parish visits within their local parish, helping raise awareness of our work.  If you share our vision & mission and would like a flexible volunteering opportunity that can directly contribute to reaching the next child waiting for Mary’s Meals, then this could be the role for you.
