My Christmas blessings to the people of the diocese of Paisley and to all people of good will, wishing you joy and peace in this season of new life and grace.
The Christmas story tells us of how a great mystery born in the heart of God entered into human history. In His fulness God Himself took on flesh and entered into our world. As the Word of the Father He came to give meaning to Creation, to history and to every human person.
His coming shines a new light of glory upon us. In the Babe of Bethlehem our eyes see God Himself made visible. At the sight of the austere stable, populated by Mary and Joseph, the ox and ass, the shepherds and wise men, we see the little child lying in the manger and our hearts are caught up in the very love of God.
I hope this Christmas in your hearts you hear the angels sing, see shepherds wonder, watch the wise men bow down, find Joseph watching over the Babe, and alight on Mary’s kind face inviting you to touch the Messiah King.
