“I am delighted to be here today and to be able to formally open this tremendous facility which apart from being a technical triumph, is also a triumph for truth and the protection of life at every stage. While it’s sad that we live in a society that doesn’t value the God given gift of life as it should, we must thank God for all the work that goes on across our country and beyond to build a culture of life – and in so many ways at the heart of that work – is SPUC.
In schools and universities, in branches all over the country, through White Flower appeals in parishes, demonstrations outside our parliaments, lobbying, education, publishing and now broadcasting, SPUC is there presenting to an often sceptical and distracted world the immutable truth, that we are all created in the image and likeness of Almighty God and are owed every dignity and protection from the moment of conception to our natural death.

So in supporting and blessing the work which will go on here, it gives me great pleasure to open the SPUC TV studios and dedicate them to the memory of Fr. Bernard Connell.”
