Paisley diocese wants to build upon the momentum created by WYD Krakow and Youth to Lourdes. Following these events young people came forward with a desire to be more involved in the life of the diocese.
Inverclyde has already begun a
Young Catholic Leaders Programme. At the other end of the diocese a Paisley Faith Forum will meet in our UWS chaplaincy, aimed at S5/6 pupils, university and college students and young adults. We aim to help these young people to meet, get together, make friends and get to know better what they believe as Catholics and why they believe it so that their faith is credible to them and so that they are confident to witness it in the world. At the same time we hope to train them to become Catholic leaders among their peers.
The Paisley Faith Forum is under the auspices of The Faith Movement which offers a new insight into the Catholic faith based on a synthesis of science and revelation, centred on Jesus Christ as Lord of Creation, history, culture, society, and every human person. Faith Forum Sessions put on series of talks on the basics of the Catholic faith, adapted to a theme of the times and delivered by invited speakers. The basic themes are: God and atheism; the human person, created good by God, fallen and wounded and called to redemption and glory; Jesus Christ as the meaning of the Cosmos, history and every person and His grace the means of the fulfilment of everything and everyone; the Church as the living presence and instrument of Christ in the world, the Sacraments as privileged sources of life, grace and holiness; Our Lady and the Saints as brethren, models and intercessors for our live on earth and hope of salvation.
