Bringing
#RedWednesday to the Diocese of Paisley
RedWednesday Message
The Cross is the symbol of our faith and of God’s love. But in many countries, the Cross makes many regimes and groups angry. According to the International Society for Human Rights
, 75% of all instances of religious discrimination worldwide are against Christians.
By lighting your Church red; by coming together in prayer; by raising emergency funds for Christian families in the Middle East; by joining forces with local Christian groups, YOU are shining a light on Christian persecution and also shining your own light of Christ in your community.
Christ’s love can transform even the most bleak and hopeless situation if we trust in him.
This November, through your prayers and solidarity you will be standing up for faith and freedom and proclaiming that no-one should have to live in fear because of their peacefully-held beliefs. You will be standing up for peace and tolerance:
‘Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.. for they will be filled ’Blessed are the peacemakers … for they will be called children of God.
