Dear friends, The team at Interfaith Scotland are delighted to announce the theme for Scottish Interfaith Week 2020 – ‘Connecting’. Although Scottish Interfaith Week takes place from 8-15 November, which is still some time away, we wanted to give all of you a chance to begin planning amazing events. 2020 has been a challenging year for all of humanity with the Covid-19 Pandemic, yet despite the difficulties some wonderful and surprising positives have emerged. Many people have found new and innovative ways to connect with each other and to re-connect with nature. This inspired us to choose 'Connecting' as the theme for Scottish Interfaith Week 2020. This year will require holding very different types of events and you will be able to access supporting resources and information, and to upload your event from late August onwards. Now is the time to begin planning around the theme - have fun and stay connected. We are still living with the Pandemic and Scotland is currently in Phase 1 of lockdown https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-framework-decision-making-scotlands-route-map-through-out-crisis-phase-1-update/ The First Minister has announced a route map out of lockdown and as part of that route map there will be a gradual re-opening of places of worship. Currently guidelines for that re-opening are being written and our subsequent newsletters will have links to the guidance. Life may take some time to go ‘back to normal’ and globally people are talking about a ‘new normal’ and the possibility of ‘building back better’ https://www.wri.org/coronavirus-recovery We at Interfaith Scotland would love to hear your ideas for building a better society and we are currently collecting your stories, poems and artwork for an upcoming publication, please contact frances@interfaithscotland.org for more details. https://interfaithscotland.org/ https://interfaithscotland.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Interfaith-Scotland-Newsletter-Spring-2020.pdf Best wishes from the Team at Interfaith Scotland |
