The first anniversary of Rosary on the Coast falls providentially on Divine Mercy Sunday, 28 April!

It is as if devotion to Our Lady of Mercy and the Rosary is leading us to the Feast of Mercy of Her Son!

Rosary on the Coast came from the laity who felt called to make reparation for the sins of the world and summon our Church to reparation.

The first call of Jesus was to: Repent and Believe the Good News, and His Gospel calls us to continual repentance, to be a Church semper reformanda.

Our deafness to this call is the cause of the crisis in which we find ourselves today.

Sins of our modern age are against God, by rejecting Him and idolizing humanity, and against the dignity of the human person, particularly the sanctity of life in abortion, and the truth of human sexuality, offended by much political ideology attached to gender and sexuality.

The Lord asks us: Why are you asleep? and calls us to: Stay awake, watch and pray! The Scriptures advise us: Cry to the Lord; let your tears flow like a torrent, day and night. (Lam 2:18-19)

In recent times the Holy Spirit has inspired the revelation of Jesus’ Divine Mercy to Saint Faustina (1930) and the apparitions of Our Lady to the pastorinos at Fatima (1917) who sacrificed much to save sinners. Our Lady asked them for the Communion of Reparation on the Five First Saturdays.

Why Divine Mercy for these times?
Divine Mercy is the Lord’s summons to the Church to intercede for these times. In her Diary Jesus advises Saint Faustina to: unite yourself with Me as closely as possible; (and) through love ... soften the anger of God, and … plead for mercy for the world. (531). He added that: Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy. (699)

Our world is in a spiritual battle, with Satan waging war on the souls of peoples and nations. Pope Saint John Paul advised us that: The grave challenges confronting the world at the start of this new Millennium need some intervention from on high, capable of guiding the hearts of those governing the destinies of nations, to give reason to hope for a brighter future.” (40). In Rosarium Virginis Mariae he pointed to Our Lady of the Rosary as the One Who would win this Intervention from on High.

God is calling us to be Prophets of Prayer and Sacrifice for our Isles who, like prophets of old, prayed for their nation and for all their peoples to return to God.

Feast of Divine Mercy, Sunday 28 April, 3.00pm

Our event this year takes place in church as the Divine Mercy devotion requires Holy Mass, Adoration, Stations of the Cross, Rosary, Veneration of the Image of Divine Mercy and the much needed renewal of the practice of Sacrament of Confession.

Here is what to do:

1. Host Divine Mercy Feast Day Devotions in your Parish, Shrine or Cathedral, or join one nearby, or set up one in your parish with the support of your Priest.

2. Sign your location on the MAP at www.rosaryonthecoast.co.uk

3. A Booklet will be available on the website.

4. Pray the Novena to the Divine Mercy from Good Friday until the Feast. Jesus revealed that through this Novena He would remember with special mercies every person from the beginning of time until now.
